This document provides a collection of useful keyboard shortcuts to improve productivity.

Keyboard Shortcuts (GNOME)

The “Super” key is the Windows key on most keyboards.
Custom shortcuts: Settings > Devices > Keyboard

Terminal

  1. Ctrl + Alt + T – Open terminal
    • Opens a new terminal window
  2. Ctrl + Shift + T – New tab
    • Opens a new tab in the same terminal
  3. Alt + <number> – Switch tab
    • Jump to tab by number

Window Management

  1. Super + Arrow Key – Snap window
    • Move window left / right / top / bottom
  2. Alt + Tab – Switch apps
    • Cycle through open windows
  3. Alt + Esc – Cycle windows
    • Switch between open windows
  4. Super – Activities overview
    • Show all open windows
  5. Super + H – Hide app
    • Minimize current window
  6. Ctrl + Q – Quit app
    • Close current application

Workspace and Apps

  1. Super + PageUp / PageDown – Switch workspace
    • Move between workspaces

    • Navigate workspaces
